The 8th Sustainable Energy Technology Asia (SETA) exhibition, Thailand’s premier annual energy trade event, took place in Bangkok, co-hosted with SSA and SMA as strategic partners. Attracting over 15,000 attendees from 50 countries, Fonrich New Energy once again captured attention with its full range of advanced AFCI solutions, including smart safety protectors and optimizers, cementing its leadership in the MLPE (Module-Level Power Electronics) sector in Thailand.
Thailand boasts exceptional solar resources, with average daily radiation levels between 5-6.5 kWh/m², especially in the northeast and central regions, where annual radiation levels reach 1,200-1,400 kWh/m². This makes Thailand an ideal location for solar power. Under its energy plan, the country aims to reach an installed capacity of 77.211 GW by 2037, with 20.766 GW coming from renewable sources.
Thailand has also implemented the Thai Electrical Code: Solar Rooftop Power Supply Installations 2022, mandating that rooftop solar systems include Rapid Shutdown Devices (RSD) to ensure that system voltage falls to a safe level within 30 seconds in case of emergencies. This policy has bolstered the growth of companies like Fonrich, which recently established a subsidiary in Thailand to expand its Southeast Asian market presence and strengthen global sales networks.
Fonrich’s MLPE solutions use proprietary bidirectional PLC communication technology, enabling rapid module-level shutdown during emergencies. These systems eliminate risks from high DC voltage and arcs, ensuring safe rescue operations and preventing electrical accidents.
Fonrich's solutions integrate seamlessly with the SafeSolar smart O&M system, providing real-time monitoring of each module’s location, output, temperature, power, and voltage via PC or app. When a fault occurs, the system sends alerts with precise diagnostics via email or app, enabling remote maintenance without the need for on-site inspections, reducing operational costs and improving efficiency.
Fonrich’s module-level solutions are compatible with mainstream inverter brands and comply with STC standards. They ensure efficient, low-loss operation in complex environments, improving power generation across residential, commercial, and large-scale ground installations.
At SETA 2024, Fonrich unveiled its intelligent solar modules, an innovative product integrating safety protectors directly into PV modules. This integration simplifies installation, enhances safety, and optimizes power output.
Smart Monitoring: The modules track output, temperature, voltage, and other parameters in real-time. Faults are immediately identified and reported to maintenance personnel, minimizing downtime and avoiding energy losses.
Advanced AFCI Technology: Integrated smart protectors offer module-level rapid shutdown (RSD), eliminating DC voltage and arcs to ensure system safety.
Cost-Effective Installation: Compared to traditional RSDs, the integrated design reduces labor and cabling costs, streamlining installation.
Fonrich founder Zhang Yong emphasized that integrating shutdown technology into PV modules will become a mainstream trend in the future.
On August 15, 2024, Martin Mao, Fonrich’s Director of Business and Marketing, delivered a keynote address titled "Open a New Era of Solar Asset Management." He discussed the critical role of residential and commercial PV systems in the transition to clean energy and highlighted the importance of MLPE technology in enhancing system safety and efficiency.
Martin introduced Fonrich’s module-level safety protectors, which offer multiple shutdown options to prevent fire risks. In addition, the Fonrich optimizer, with integrated MSPT optimization, improves power generation efficiency by 5%-25% and is compatible with any third-party inverter.
Using the SafeSolar cloud platform, customers can monitor each component of their PV systems in real time, easily locate faults, and reduce management and operational costs. This platform significantly improves system performance and reliability, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
Fonrich remains committed to advancing PV technologies with a focus on safety, efficiency, and intelligence. The company continues to expand its international presence and foster partnerships to promote sustainable energy solutions worldwide.
Fonrich’s dedication to innovation and collaboration will help drive the energy industry’s transition toward a greener future. We look forward to meeting again next year to celebrate new technological breakthroughs and cooperation opportunities.
