On September 25, SNEC ES+ 2024 kicked off in Shanghai, where Fonrich New Energy showcased its innovative solutions focusing on “Optimization + Safety” for energy storage. With a comprehensive lineup of safety optimizers, arc fault detectors, digital energy solutions, and PV safety technologies, the exhibition attracted a wide audience of industry professionals.
While favorable sunlight, climate, and unobstructed spaces are ideal for PV and energy storage systems, the declining cost of electricity has led to a rapid expansion of distributed PV installations, making high-quality PV resources increasingly scarce. Fonrich’s optimizers are designed to address these challenges by independently regulating the current and voltage of each module, ensuring optimal performance without interference between modules.
With Fonrich’s solutions, even modules with varying outputs can be connected within the same string. This flexibility allows modules with different orientations and tilts to coexist, maximizing rooftop space and boosting DC capacity and overall power generation.
Shading and obstructions affect not only rooftop installations but also individual modules in every PV system. Fonrich’s optimizers unlock the full potential of each module, ensuring optimal power generation. By installing optimizers on each module, the system achieves module-level optimization, maximizing output.
Mismatched strings due to factors like shading, degradation, or component variance can lower the overall output—known as the “weakest link” or “bucket effect.” Fonrich’s optimizers mitigate this issue by boosting the current of underperforming modules, aligning the string’s performance and enhancing total energy yield.
Fonrich’s unique bidirectional PLC communication and monitoring system is compatible with third-party inverters, ensuring seamless integration. Paired with the SafeSolar intelligent O&M system, users can monitor the location, energy output, temperature, power, and voltage of each module in real-time via PC or app. In case of faults, the system pinpoints the issue and enables remote diagnostics, simplifying maintenance and improving efficiency.
As the energy storage market expands, the risks associated with DC arcs have grown increasingly concerning. Between 2017 and 2023, nearly 100 energy storage incidents were reported globally, including 59 fire-related accidents. With rising demand for high-capacity, long-duration storage solutions, new safety challenges have emerged, such as increasing DC voltage levels and currents.
Fonrich has long focused on DC arc safety technologies. Its arc fault detection module is the only mass-produced DC arc detector in China, capable of analyzing electrical parameters to identify arc issues accurately. The product has been certified under UL 1699B since 2017 and is widely adopted by energy storage inverter manufacturers.
The company’s smart safety protector can detect parallel, series, and ground arc faults at the module level, offering advanced arc extinction technology to safeguard PV systems and storage applications.
Since its founding in 2011, Fonrich has continuously pushed the boundaries of MLPE (Module-Level Power Electronics) and AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) technologies, with a commitment to ensuring the safety, stability, and efficiency of PV systems. Over the past decade, the company has secured nearly 200 core patents, including more than 80 invention patents, incorporating proprietary technology into every product. This dedication has earned Fonrich the trust and recognition of customers worldwide.
Looking ahead, Fonrich will continue to expand its global presence, collaborating with partners to promote sustainable energy development. As a leader in MLPE and AFCI solutions, Fonrich remains committed to driving green energy innovation and creating a sustainable future for all.
