Fonrich New Energy Debuts at South Africa Expo, Ushering in a New Era of MLPE Technology

From March 18 to 20, the Solar & Storage Show Africa was grandly held at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. Tens of thousands of industry peers gathered to explore the development trends of the new era in the solar and storage industry, promoting the construction of green energy in South Africa.

Fonrich (Shanghai) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. presented its new distributed MLPE (Module-Level Power Electronics) technology solutions, garnering widespread recognition from customers on-site.

At the exhibition, Fonrich New Energy prominently showcased products such as the smart safety protector (smart shutdown), smart safety optimizer, string arc safety protection box, and accompanying DC arc detector.

The key difference between the Fonrich smart safety protector and standard rapid shutdown devices lies in its arc detection and interruption technology (AFCI), which effectively prevents safety incidents caused by fires from various factors, fully protecting the safety of rooftop photovoltaic systems. Additionally, the product is equipped with Fonrich New Energy’s self-developed bidirectional PLC communication technology and the independently developed SafeSolar intelligent operation and maintenance system.

The system provides real-time data monitoring, arc fault detection, active protection and fault location, data analysis, remote upgrade control, and other functions for the safety protector, enabling users to remotely and timely understand the real-time and historical operation of the photovoltaic power station, promptly address faults, and further enhance the intelligence, safety, operation, maintenance efficiency, and convenience of photovoltaic power stations.

The Fonrich “smart safety optimizer” product employs intelligent photovoltaic curve matching technology (MSPT) to track the maximum power point of each module, eliminating power loss caused by module mismatch and potentially increasing power generation revenue by 5%-30%. Moreover, the safety optimizer product integrates all the functions of the “safety protector” product: module-level rapid shutdown, arc detection and interruption (AFCI), string disconnection protection, and intelligent data monitoring, providing strong support for the stable operation of photovoltaic systems!

Additionally, the Fonrich string photovoltaic arc fire protection box product features precise DC arc detection capabilities, effectively preventing damage from arcs to photovoltaic modules and power systems. If an arc occurs in a string, upon reaching the alarm threshold, the arc box can independently shut down the affected string without affecting the power generation of other strings, ensuring the safe operation of the power station. This fundamentally addresses the largest fire hazard on the DC side of photovoltaic systems!

Through this South African solar storage exhibition, Fonrich New Energy has taken a significant step towards creating reliable, user-friendly, and economical new energy systems, fully demonstrating Fonrich’s robust technical and research capabilities.
