On August 8, 2024, the much-anticipated World Solar PV and Energy Storage Expo opened at the China Import and Export Fair in Guangzhou. The event attracted over 2,000 exhibitors and more than 200,000 professional visitors from 100 countries. As Guangdong continues to lead China’s economic growth, the province’s commercial and industrial PV market has shown remarkable momentum. However, the high voltage levels of PV systems, reaching up to 1,500V, pose significant safety risks. Recognizing this, the Dongguan Development and Reform Bureau mandated in 2022 that all PV projects include module-level rapid shutdown (RSD) functionality to ensure safety during emergencies.

At this expo, Fonrich showcased its self-developed RSD series products, which utilize bidirectional PLC communication technology. Advanced Smart Monitoring with SafeSolar O&M System
All Fonrich products integrate with the SafeSolar intelligent O&M system, enabling users to monitor the real-time status of each module through a computer or mobile app. The system displays detailed data, including module location, power output, temperature, voltage, and more. In case of faults, the system provides remote diagnostics via email or app alerts, significantly reducing the need for on-site maintenance and lowering operational costs.
Enhancing Power Generation Efficiency with Optimizers
Fonrich also presented its new series of PV optimizers designed for high efficiency and low loss in challenging environments. These optimizers meet STC standards and are compatible with mainstream inverters. They support module-level rapid shutdown and intelligent monitoring, making them suitable for residential, commercial, and large-scale ground-mounted PV installations. Fonrich’s solutions ensure users achieve maximum power generation and increased energy yields.
Additional Product Highlights: Arc Fault Protection Solutions
String-Level Arc Safety Protection Box: Automatically disconnects faulty strings while maintaining power generation from unaffected strings. The system sends alerts to notify users, preventing potential fire incidents.
Arc Fault Detection Module: Analyzes electrical parameters to detect real arc faults in compliance with UL 1699B standards. It is widely used in DC systems such as PV combiner boxes, DC cabinets, telecom rooms, communication base stations, and energy storage inverters, making it one of the most popular solutions among inverter manufacturers.
